Kruševac's water factory Majdevo to double its capacities prior to end of 2011 - EU invests EUR 7m in water supply system of Rasina region
The European Union will invest about EUR 7m in the water supply system of the Rasina region by the end of the next year. The agreement envisages reconstruction and expansion of water factory Majdevo in Kruševac, completion of the main pipeline to Ćićevac and Varvarin and construction of a reservoir of 4,000 cubic meters in Varvarin. Works on the reservoir have already started and the main contractor for all works is Italian company Caligan, which will also hire Serbian companies.
- The existing capacity of water factory Majdevo will be increased from 650 l/s to 1,000 l/s. The water from this factory will be supplied to the municipalities of Aleksandrovac, Ćićevac, Varvarin and part of Trstenik. Total of EUR 4.6m are set aside for the works, new equipment and technology in the factory - Ljubomir Banović, the person in charge of investments in public company Vodovod Kruševac, told eKapija.
Banović added that the factory in Majdevo was receiving water from head pond Ćelije.
