Government passed lex specialis draft law for low cost apartments - Start of construction at the end of August in Vranje, Kraljevo and Nis

Serbian government passed today lex specialis draft law for low cost apartments construction for law enforcement officers, Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Construction, Traffic and Infrastructure Zorana Mihajlovic said. She announced the start of construction as early as the end of August in Vranje , Kraljevo and Nis.

The subject in question is the Draft Law for the specific purposes of construction the apartments for law enforcement officers.

- The law has been coordinated with all government departments and it was passed in today's session. I expect it to appear before the Parliament next week, Mihajlovic said while visiting Zemunske kapije construction site where one test apartment for the law enforcement officers would be located.

Mihajlovic said that the low cost apartments, which will be sold at maximum EUR 500 per m2, will be first built in Vranje, Kraljevo, Nis and Belgrade due to already secured locations.

- By the end of August we can expect the start of construction in Vranje, Kraljevo, and Nis where we have locations prepared. As for Belgrade, we have to wait for the new government to be formed and then we can star the negotiations.

Mihajlovic also said that Kraljevo, Vranje and Nis will each get 170 apartments and for Belgrade 400 apartments are being planned.
