Geox Notifies Workers That it is Being Liquidated – All Employees to Have Their Job Contracts Terminated
In addition to the explanation about the continuous lowering of the production activities, which have been further lowered during the pandemic, they also say that all the employees are to have their job contracts terminated and that each will be sent a pertinent decision on it individually.
This is the first time that the company has “officially” addressed the employees in Vranje. After two months of speculations and confirmations from top state authorities, the Italian factory is definitely leaving Vranje, whereas the employees will be able to exercise their right to a compensation through the National Employment Service.
In the meantime, it was announced that, instead of Geox, a new investor would come to Vranje and that most workers, currently out of job, would find employment there.
