On the first day of March, the final process related to the visa regulation for digital nomads in Croatia was completed. In other words, an online system for the electronic submission of requests for digital nomads was published, clearly defining all the terms and the procedure of visa applications.

Having hosted the first digital nomads conference in the autumn of 2020, Dubrovnik launched a new project. In cooperation between the City of Dubrovnik, the City of Dubrovnik Tourist Board, Saltwater Nomads and Total Croatia News, a contest meant for digital nomads from the whole world started.

The winners of the contest, ten of them, will take part in “The Dubrovnik Digital Nomad-in-Residence” program, and, within the program, they will spend a month in Dubrovnik, taking part in the conference. During that period, they will attend workshops which will aim to create a strategic and sustainable direction for the city to go in and to adapt to the COVID-19 challenges. Furthermore, the activities in the program are also meant to contribute to boosting the city’s reputation among digital nomads on a global level.

The lucky ten digital nomads will win accommodation and travel tours. Within the conference, they will go through training for professional development, take part in workshops and present their findings about shaping Dubrovnik as a city adapted to digital nomads.

On its part, Dubrovnik will get excellent promotion in the global community of digital nomads. Let us remind that, recently, CNN and Lonely Planet cited Croatia as an ideal destination for digital nomads, thereby ensuring enormous free media space and a large global media reach.

The project starts on April 23 and ends on May 23, 2021. Applications may be sent between March 6 and 31. The application form and more information about the project can be found on the pages of Saltwater Nomads.
