A new lab for testing samples for coronavirus, Vatreno Oko, which will carry out 2,000 tests a day, has opened at the Clinical Center of Serbia. Another lab will open in Nis and be able to carry out 1,000 tests a day.

The new lab is a Chinese donation to Serbia. A total of 40 health workers, molecular biologists, will work there in three shifts, seven days a week.

The works on the construction of the lab began on March 25 and were finished as soon as possible. The facility is designed as a separate unit of 750 m2, and the lab is fully automated, with SCADA and BMS systems. Half the space will be under negative pressure, which means that no infectious agents can exit.
