The president of the French-Serbian Chamber of Commerce, Dragoljub Damljanovic, has estimated that a quicker implementation and realization of measures for helping the economy due to the coronavirus, adopted by the Government of Serbia due to the coronavirus, is needed. Damljanovic said at the online conference “Measures of the Government for Companies from the Angle of Banks” that the set of measures was of great importance and that they aimed to maintain the employment rate to the greatest extent possible.

– Our labor law lacks additional regulations that would facilitate operations, such as temporary unemployment, or non-full-time employment. That's something that could protect employment in the long term – Damljanovic said.

The head of the Digital and Marketing Division of Credit Agricole Bank, Marijana Cupara, emphasized that the Government and the National Bank of Serbia had reacted quickly to the crisis and that banks were provided with new instructions daily.

– The moratorium is a good measure for the majorly affected industries and some more time is needed for all other measures to be realized as well. It's important to react quickly and transparently to the situation and to work on animating our clients, which the digitization of our services makes much easier – Cupara said.

The president of the Executive Board of OTP Bank Serbia, Predrag Mihajlovic, said that it was very important to protect the employees and the economy. He sees the government's measures as a good means of achieving that goal.

– These guarantee schemes are a very important tool and we will try to protect our clients, but it's important to know that, without the state's support, a bank is often unable to help those most vulnerable. It's important for us to establish a better and more digitized communication with state institutions, such as the land registry and others – Mihajlovic said.
