The Government of Serbia has adopted the decision on the preparation of a spatial plan for the special-purpose area of the new port in Belgrade, and the locations near the Pupin Bridge and the current Port of Pancevo are offered as the two options.

The deadline period for the preparation of the draft spatial plan is 12 months, and the funds for the preparation are provided by the Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure.

The rough border of the spatial plan encloses parts of the territory of the City of Belgrade in the urban municipality of Palilula (cadaster municipalities of Kovilovo and Krnjaca) and a part of the territory of the City of Pancevo, and the definite border will be determined by the draft spatial plan.

As eKapija has reported before, the new Port of Belgrade will consist of a terminal for general cargo, a container terminal, a terminal for bulk cargo, a terminal for liquid cargo and a RO-RO terminal.

The planned capacities of the Port of Belgrade should enable the reloading and storage of at least 2,500,000 tons of various types of goods, whereby this port will meet the conditions for being included in the Core TEN-T network of river ports.

The graphical solutions filed alongside the decision can be seen in this PDF file.
